Metadata we extract for you
Extracting metadata is one of the things Extract.FAST is built to do. We can pull the information embedded in your files — EXIF data in photos, ID3 tags in audio, document properties, and more — and hand it back as JSON, CSV, or plain text. We surface that metadata to you rather than stripping it out.
Metadata we keep about your job
Separately from what we extract for you, we keep a small operational record so we can run billing and prevent abuse: the extraction type, file sizes, processing time, and credits used. We never keep the contents of your files, and IP addresses are stored only as irreversible hashes.
Extracted metadata is deleted with your results
The metadata we extract for you is part of your downloadable output, so it follows the same schedule as everything else — automatically deleted about an hour after your job finishes, with no backups.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you strip metadata like EXIF from my files?
No — pulling out metadata is one of the things Extract.FAST is for. We surface the metadata embedded in your files, such as EXIF, ID3 tags, or document properties, as part of your results rather than removing it.
What job information do you keep for billing?
A small operational record: the extraction type, file sizes, processing time, and credits used. We never keep your file contents, and IP addresses are stored only as irreversible hashes.
How long is the extracted metadata kept?
It's part of your output, so it's deleted on the same schedule — about an hour after your job finishes — and we keep no backups.
